DON
COLVIN
is truly a renaissance artist with a well-known career in the textile
arts and as a"one of a kind" potter. He is well versed
in the arts and crafts industry, and it is not unusual to see works
of art in any medium that he chooses to use.
Don's
many credits include industrial engineering with Genesco,fashion
design with Junior Footwear and Formfit (where he invented and designed
the Jogging Bra and was a guest on the "What's My Line"
Game Show), custom and designer knitwear, and many theatrical and
movie productions. Don has worked with Bette Midler, Gene Wilder,
Burt Reynolds,Mary Tyler Moore, Loretta Young, John Goodman, John
Boreman and many more. His professionalism and great humour have
been the cornerstone of his career.
Don
launched the Superba Knitting Machine Dealer Training and Manual
Program in the USA and Canada. He has written three books on the
subject. His business experience has included working in several
of his own working studios and three different retail stores in
Toronto.
Many
people will know Don from his many TV appearances, lectures and
workshops throughout Canada and USA.
Don
taught at he Haliburton School of Fine Arts in the beautiful town
of Haliburton and many other locations throughout the year.
Currently,
Don's schedule is busy with a commission for the "Spirit of
Sports" organization and the costumes for "Intermezzo"
at the New York City Opera.
Don is co-founder of the Academy of Artisans in Toronto.

DALIAH
ORGAN is
a chef and caterer who grew up in Israel with an appreciation of Middle
Eastern cuisine. Since coming to Canada, she has developed her tastes
to all types and styles of cooking. Her impressive list of schools
where she studied her art include the Cordon Bleu in London,England,
Peter Kumpf in New York,USA and many more.
Donating
her time and talents to many charities became the start of her own
catering business called D&D Catering.
Many
people have been inspired by her TV appearances and demonstrations
at the Royal Winter Fair,Canada's foremost Food and Agricultural
Show.
Daliah's
love of food, cooking and teaching is always evident in her classes.
With an enthusiastic approach to taste, preparation and exploring
your own style students learn the basics and how to use them effectively
to create their own personalized gourmet foods.
Daliah
is currently working on an eagerly anticipated cook book of her
own recipes. Dahlia is co-founder of the Academy of Artisans in
Toronto.
